Mrs. Davis' Caramel Brownies

Makes one 9 x 12 pan

Ingredients

1 box German chocolate cake mix
6 oz can evaporated milk
50 caramels (14 oz package)
3/4 cup melted butter
1 cup chocolate chips
1 cup chopped pecans(optional)

Preparation

Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Melt caramels and 1/3 cup evaporated milk in double boiler.
Combine cake mix, butter, and 1/3 cup evaporated milk.
Spread half of batter mixture over greased 9 x 12 pan; Bake for 10 minutes.
Take out pan and sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.
Drizzle caramel over the chips and nuts.
Cover with remaining batter, try spooning it in dollops over caramel.
Bake at 350 for 15 minutes
